Fit Kids is a functional strength and conditioning class designed exclusively for males and females aged 12 to 17 years.

What is Fit Teens?
Fit Kids is a fitness program designed to educate and inspire children to live active, healthy and  happy lifestyles. It is our aim to teach children the basic principals of exercise and to improve their health across the following 10 components of fitness which are: cardiovascular endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power speed, co-ordination, agility, balance and accuracy.

Our Fit Kids program combines, gymnastics/body weight movements, kids specific weightlifting and cardiovascular exercises to create fun, interesting, safe and effective workouts that will improve each child's physical abilities.

The program focuses on the children learning the correct technique for each movement pattern first, once mastered we then introduce load (typically 0kgs up to 8kgs) to promote strength then we increase the intensity of the workout to improve cardiovascular and metabolic fitness.

Through these skills and exercise principals it is our aim to teach children how to enjoy exercise that will develop into a passion to live an active, healthy lifestyle. CrossFit Kids is also a great way to compliment your child's chosen sport as the variety of movement patterns, types of workouts, and objects they need to learn to control (including themselves) will improve their all round confidence and fitness which will directly transfer onto the court, field, pitch, pool or course etc.

How do the classes work?
All of the classes commence with a 5-10min dynamic warm up that focusing on getting the children moving, to elevate the heart rates, warm up the body and get them focused on the up coming activities. We incorporate stretching, mobility, core work, cardiovascular exercise and  movement preparation into the warm up. After the warm up we focus on skills and strength development for 10-15min where we teach the children how to lift, squat, pull & push objects including themselves safely and effectively. From here we move into the 10-15min conditioning component which is always completed at high intensity with good technique to help improve their cardiovascular and metabolic fitness. an example of this could be: 8mins As Many Rounds as Possible of: 5 Push Ups, 10 Ring Rows, 15 Air Squat and a 200m Run. Finally to finish our session we play a fitness based game and stretch as part of the 5-10min cool down process.
